Before we get into designing your home, I want to share a little about how I got here and what shapes the way I design homes.

Hi, I’m Carly!

I live near Lincoln, Nebraska with my husband and our two cats, Marlin and Mackerel. If you catch me on any given weekend, I'm probably knee-deep in a reno project at our own house, reading, or gardening. I love being at home and fully believe our homes should be more functional and personal than they usually are.

Design has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. As a kid, I was always drawing floor plans (just a bit out of scale) and building anything I could out of Lego. There was never really a question about what I’d end up doing.

I went to the University of Nebraska-Lincoln for Architecture and graduated with a BA in Design. My first job out of college was commercial design at a small architecture firm, which taught me so much, but it didn’t feel right designing empty buildings. When I moved into residential design, things clicked.

Residential design is so special because every project is so specific to the people living there, and I love bringing each home to life. There's nothing quite like being able to be part of someone’s new build journey.

But, I noticed something

People would pick a standard plan, make a few tweaks, and choose materials one by one with no real visual of how it would actually look.

They trusted it would work out. But then came the unexpected surprises, the budget creep, and the total exhaustion.

I realised the traditional way of designing new builds was broken. It was stressful, impersonal, and left way too much to chance.

I knew there had to be a better way to build a home - one built around clarity instead of guesswork.

So I started CANB Design.

I created a streamlined, deeply personal process where we map out how you actually live. You see your entire home come to life in 3D before a single nail is driven. No guessing, and no surprises here.

Building a custom home should be exciting. Now, I hand my clients complete design plans they feel genuinely confident passing to their builder.
